GREENMAIL PRIVACY POLICY
1. Greenmail takes Internet privacy issues very seriously, which is why it developed this comprehensive Privacy Policy.
- This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices of Greenmail.com. Greenmail want to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy. In this Policy, we tell you:
- What personally identifiable information of yours or third party personally identifiable information is collected from you through this web site;
- The organization collecting the information;
- How the information is used;
- With whom the information may be shared;
- What choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information;
- The kind of security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under Greenmail's control; and
- How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
If you feel that Greenmail is not abiding by this Privacy Policy, you should first contact Greenmail's Privacy Officer, Glenn Hotchkiss, by e-mail at privacy@greenmail.com. We will do our very best to promptly address your concerns.
2. This Privacy Policy covers all information about you that we have in our possession.
- This Privacy Policy covers the personally identifiable information you provide to Greenmail via this website. "Personally identifiable information" means information that identifies you personally, such as your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
- This Privacy Policy also covers any personally identifiable information anyone else provides to us about you. In short, if we have personally identifiable information about you, it is covered by this Policy.
- This Policy does not cover any personally identifiable information that you provide at other websites linked to this website. We advise you to review the Privacy Policy of any other site before you provide any information at that site.
- This Policy also covers aggregate, anonymous information that Greenmail collects through log files when you use this site. This information is not personally identifiable, but it still is covered by this Policy.
3. When you sign up with Greenmail, you only need to give Greenmail your name and mailing address, but if you wish, you can provide us with optional information that will help us serve you better.
- Greenmail collects personally identifiable information about you when you register for the Internet mail delivery services Greenmail offers via this website.
- When you register with Greenmail, the only personally identifiable information we require is your name, mailing address, and certification that you are 13 years of age or older. We require this information to verify who you are and to determine whether your name and address are on the mailing lists provided to us by any of the participating advertisers with whom we have business relationships.
- We also require that you select a unique user name and password for purposes of logging on to our website.
- In addition to your name and address, you may wish to provide us with additional information about yourself at our Member Profile Page. This optional information may include demographic information about you such as your age, gender, annual income, etc., as well as information regarding your specific interests and personal preferences. You need not provide any of this optional information to us, but doing so will allow us to meet your needs more specifically.
- We also use log files to collect information regarding your visit to the Greenmail site, such as the number of visitors, the date and time of the visit, and the pages viewed during the visit. We collect this information to understand how our members are using our site and to improve the site. This information is all collected in an anonymous, aggregate fashion, and is not personally identifiable to you or any other member.
- If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we will ask you for the friend’s email address. Greenmail will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. GreenMail stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact GreenMail at service@greenmail.com to request the removal of this information from our database.
- If you are a potential Participating Advertiser, Greenmail requires your company name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address for purposes of contacting you and conducting business off-line. Greenmail collects this information from Participating Advertisers at the Participating Advertiser Registration Page.
4. Greenmail uses information about you only to provide you with superior service via this website.
- Greenmail uses the personally identifiable information you provide only for the following purposes:
- to verify your identity
- to determine whether you are on any mailing lists provided to us by the Participating Advertisers with whom we have business relationships
- to tailor the advertising offers delivered to your secure Greenmail account to your personal preferences
- to communicate with you about administrative issues concerning the services Greenmail offers via this website.
5. We will not sell, rent, or disclose information about you to anyone.
- Greenmail will not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personally identifiable information to anyone. In other words, no disclosure to third parties will occur, which means that you do not have to opt out of disclosure to third parties like at other websites.
- Greenmail will deliver to your secure account two types of mail: 1) direct mail offers and other advertising pieces from Greenmail's Participating Advertisers, and 2) bills and other account statements from Greenmail's Participating Billers. Greenmail intentionally has developed its Internet mail delivery service to eliminate any need to share personally identifiable information with its Participating Advertisers and Billers. More specifically:
- When you sign up as a Greenmail member, you are agreeing to receive direct mail offers from Greenmail's Participating Advertisers. Greenmail automatically will begin delivering direct mail offers and other advertising pieces from its Participating Advertisers to your Greenmail account. Greenmail does not need to share any personally identifiable information about you with its Participating Advertisers to provide this service.
- You may choose to receive bills or other account statements from Greenmail's Participating Billers via your Greenmail account. If you do so, the bills you choose to receive will be delivered directly to your Greenmail account. Greenmail does not need to share any personally identifiable information about you with its Participating Billers to provide this service. The Participating Billers may require you to provide certain identifying information for verification purposes. For example, if your utility company is a Greenmail Participating Biller, and you choose to receive their bill via your Greenmail account, the utility company might require you to provide your name, address, and account number to make sure that someone is not pretending to be you. The personally identifiable information you may be asked to provide may vary between Participating Billers. Of course, it always is your choice whether to share any personally identifiable information about yourself with any of our Participating Billers.
- Greenmail may share information with third parties on an aggregate, anonymous basis. For example, Greenmail may disclose that X % of its members are between the ages of 18 and 35, or that it has X number of members who have expressed an interest in receiving information about golf equipment. Greenmail will share this type of demographic information only on an aggregate basis, and will not share any personally identifiable information about individual members.
- We will share personally identifiable information about you if required to do so by a validly issued subpoena, court order, or other legal process.
6. Greenmail will not write cookies to your computer's hard drive.
- Greenmail will not place a persistent cookie on your computer. A persistent cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive containing personally identifiable information about you. Greenmail also will not allow third parties to place a persistent cookie on your hard drive via the Greenmail site.
- When you log on, Greenmail's hard drive creates a temporary "session cookie" to pass your user name and password to the server. This "session cookie" is not written to your hard drive, is not viewable by anyone other than Greenmail, and is destroyed automatically when you log off. Therefore, you will need to enter your user name and password each time you log on to the Greenmail site.
7. Greenmail will treat any information about you it receives from anyone else just like it will treat the information you give us directly.
- In addition to the personally identifiable information you provide to us, we also may obtain personally identifiable information about you from third parties. If we do so, Greenmail will treat that additional information the same way we treat the information you provide to us directly.
- You will have the same right to edit or delete any personally identifiable information we receive from third parties as you have to edit or delete the personally identifiable information you provide to us directly.
8. You may review, correct, update, or delete any information we have about you at any time.
- Greenmail will allow you to review any personally identifiable information we collect about you (whether received directly from you or from a third party) at any time.
- You may correct or update any of your personally identifiable information at any time by going to your Member Profile Page.
- You also may delete any or all of your personally identifiable information (except for your name and mailing address which is mandatory for verification purposes) at any time by going to your Member Profile Page. Please note that even after you delete personally identifiable information, that information still may be contained in Greenmail's archived records.
9. Greenmail will protect information about you with state of the art security measures.
- Greenmail protects your personally identifiable information from review by third parties by requiring you to enter your user name and a log-on password before viewing any personally identifiable information.
- Greenmail protects all personally identifiable information with industry-standard SSL encryption software. Greenmail's member database and all transmissions to its members are encrypted for security purposes.
- Greenmail limits employee access to personally identifiable information to only those employees who need access to such information to perform their job functions.
- Greenmail does not allow any of its Participating Advertisers or Billers access to the Greenmail site for purposes of viewing personally identifiable information.
10. We may communicate with you via your Greenmail account about your use of this site.
- We may communicate with you from time to time regarding administrative issues regarding this site, including any problems we encounter regarding your use of the site. These communications will be sent to your Greenmail account, not to any e-mail account you may have, unless you direct us otherwise.
- You should feel free to contact us via e-mail at service@greenmail.com with any questions you have regarding this site.
11. Greenmail may amend its Privacy Policy, but if we do, we will provide you with prompt notice of any significant changes.
- Greenmail reserves the right to amend its Privacy Policy at any time. If we make any amendments to our Policy that substantially change the way we use your personally identifiable information, we will notify you through a prominent announcement on our home page or via e-mail.
- However, even if we amend our Privacy Policy, the personally identifiable information you give us while this version of the Policy is in place always will be governed by this version of the Policy unless you choose differently. For example, if we amend our Policy to provide for disclosure of personally identifiable information to third parties, we will not share any personally identifiable information you previously gave us under this version of the Policy unless you authorize us to do so.
12. Greenmail does not market its Internet mail delivery services to children.
- The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) prohibits the gathering of personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
- Greenmail does not intend to offer its Internet mail delivery services to children under the age of 13.
- If you are under the age of 13, you should log off this site.
